MILWAUKEE -- The festival season begins Friday, June 5th in Milwaukee with PrideFest, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation wants folks to be aware that construction on the Hoan Bridge is ongoing.But there is some good news regarding that construction.DOT officials say they are about 75% finished with the project.The majority of the construction has been completed over the Summerfest grounds and crews are working their way to the south."So during the summer, minimally invasive operations over the festival grounds.

OSHKOSH -- An aircraft manufacturer says the company's chief executive and a mechanic were killed in a crash in one of its planes in eastern Wisconsin.Sonex Aircraft says CEO Jeremy Monnett and assembly mechanic Mike Clark died Tuesday when their single-engine plane crashed near Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, about 90 miles northwest of Milwaukee.Jeremy Monnett is the son of Sonex founder, John Monnett, who told staff Wednesday that the company will continue to operate "despite the holes left by Jeremy and Mike's absence."The two-seat plane crashed at Oshkosh Corp.'s north plant at the east end of a runway at Wittman.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee County Sheriff's officials say a semi-truck/car hauler carrying four vehicles lost control and rolled near the Ryan Road off-ramp on I-94 southbound Monday evening, May 11th.It happened shortly after 6:30 p.m.When the truck lost control, the four vehicles it was hauling came off the truck, and the truck struck another vehicle.The truck's driver sustained minor injuries.Only one lane was open near the crash site as it was being cleaned up.The crash was cleared and the roadway reopened just before 10:00 p.m.

SALT LAKE CITY - An Oregon family is furious after they said their flight was diverted to Salt Lake City and they were kicked off because of a misunderstanding with their teenage daughter who has autism.Donna Beegle told KPTV the issue started on their flight from Orlando to Portland when her 15-year-old daughter, Juliette, got hungry.Beegle said she knew her daughter needed food quickly to avoid a meltdown but the girl wouldn't eat the snacks she brought on the plane.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee County’s Committee on Transportation, Public Works and Transit on Wednesday, May 6th approved an ordinance change to lift the cap on the number of taxicab permits issued at General Mitchell International Airport.Only 50 permits currently exist at the airport.
