RACINE -- All northbound lanes of I-41/94 north of Kraut Road in Racine County have reopened following a crash Saturday afternoon, Aug. 18 -- according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).The crashed caused major delays for motorists throughout the afternoon.

MCTS bus driver helps 2-year-old girl found running down busy street

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) bus driver Diana Serrano is being recognized for helping a lost and cold 2-year-old girl."The first that I saw her was, I was sitting at the red light," said Serrano.On Saturday, Aug. 4, Serrano was just beginning her route on Milwaukee's south side, when she spotted something frightening."I know someone is not loading their kid in traffic," said Serrano.Security video from the bus shows a little girl alone and in the street, wearing nothing but a T-shirt and underwear.

Flights delayed, some diverted due to potholes that closed 2 runways at Mitchell Airport

MILWAUKEE -- Several flights were delayed and some diverted at General Mitchell International Airport due to potholes on two runways.An airport spokeswoman said around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 24 both runways had to be closed to repair the pavement.The material used takes time to harden, so the runways couldn't be used while that was ongoing.The spokeswoman said one runway was expected to reopen soon (as of about 5:45 p.m.), and the other was expected to reopen shortly after that.There was no damage to planes, and no injuries.CLICK HERE to check arrivals and departures.

MCTS officials look into developing bus route from Milwaukee to Foxconn

MILWAUKEE -- Officials with the Milwaukee County Transit System are looking into developing a bus route from Milwaukee to the Foxconn facility in Racine County.Milwaukee County Board Chairman Theo Lipscomb submitted a proposal Wednesday, July 11 to direct several county agencies to begin discussions with Racine County, the state and Foxconn.A past analysis of the potential route found more than 1,300 workers could use it on a daily basis.Construction of the Foxconn facility began in June, and it is scheduled to open in 2020.

4 donation boxes installed at Mitchell Airport, where you can donate spare change to help the homeless

MILWAUKEE -- Travelers using General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee can take the spare change out of their pockets and put it to work fighting homelessness, thanks to four new donation boxes, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele announced Tuesday, July 10.According to a news release, the new boxes, located outside and past the security checkpoints at Concourses C and D, are in place to collect donations in support of Milwaukee County's "Housing First" endowment.

'An all-around good kid:' 18-year-old killed, 7 hurt when minivan crossed median on I-41

SLINGER -- A fatal crash closed all southbound lanes of I-41 at County Highway K near Slinger in Washington County for almost three hours on Sunday, July 8.It happened around 7:45 p.m.According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, an 18-year-old man was driving a minivan northbound on I-41 when he crossed over the center median and into southbound traffic.

Vehicle fire shuts down right lane of I-94 EB near Johnson Creek, creates traffic backups

JOHNSON CREEK -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation on Monday afternoon, July 9 reported traffic queues in excess of three miles, after the right lane of I-94 eastbound was shut down near Mile Marker 273 near Johnson Creek as a result of a vehicle fire.According to the DOT, it happened shortly before 11 a.m.As of about 2 p.m. -- it was still impacting traffic.Below are photos of the vehicle fire shared with FOX6 News by a viewer:PHOTO GALLERYState Patrol officials said the fire was extinguished, and the driver was able to get out of the tow truck pictured above without suffering any injuries.Crews were then working to clear debris from the side of the road.The scene was cleared by about 2:15 p.m.
