MOUNT PLEASANT/OAK CREEK -- Elections officials said Tuesday, August 9th there have been complaints about improper electioneering by supporters of Paul Nehlen, who's running against House Speaker Paul Ryan in Wisconsin's 1st Congressional District.Wisconsin Elections Commission spokesman Reid Magney says complaints have come from Oak Creek, Mount Pleasant and Janesville about Nehlen supporters who are placing political signs too close to polling locations.

Dane County poll workers forced to adjust to faulty ballots

MADISON — Poll workers in Dane County will have to recopy votes from thousands of defective absentee ballots on Election Day next week.The Wisconsin State Journal reported Saturday that a problem with the ballots' margin has caused trouble feeding the ballots through voting machines.The county had about 150,000 ballots printed for the Aug. 9 primary.

Liberal groups appeal voter ID ruling

MADISON — Two liberal groups are appealing a legal ruling that loosens Wisconsin's voter photo identification requirement.One Wisconsin Institute and Citizen Action of Wisconsin Education Fund, Inc., challenged the voter ID law and other Republican-imposed election restrictions.U.S. District Judge James Peterson on Friday upheld the voter ID requirement but the ruling was still a win for the groups.

MADISON — House Speaker Paul Ryan's first campaign ad hits on terrorism fears and is being released the same day he's set to speak at the Republican National Convention.Ryan talks directly to the camera in the ad released Tuesday, saying "Americans are right to be worried about ISIS plotting more attacks."
