MILWAUKEE -- A semi driver received two citations after a crash involving a tow truck near the Mitchell Interchange Monday, Aug. 26.It happened shortly after 11 a.m.Officials with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said the tow truck driver was on the scene of a separate crash when the semi, headed southbound through the Mitchell Interchange, struck the tow truck.The semi's cab separated from its base after the impact, and the trailer flipped on its side, blocking all three lanes of traffic.The tow truck slammed into the wall, and the driver was trapped in the cab.

G-7 nations pledge $40 million to fight Amazon fires

Officer fired at man 'pointing a compound bow' at police in Racine

RACINE -- A man, 43, was shot at by a Racine police officer Saturday night, Aug. 24, after police said the man pointed a compound bow at officers.Police were called out to the area near Erie Street and English Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance.Police said the officer, a five-year veteran of the department, responded to the threat by firing his duty weapon at the man in an attempt to stop the threat.The man was not hit, and there were no injuries.The officer was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation."I came out, all you could see was lights," said Timothea Cooper, neighbor.
