Crews called out to scene of water main break, gas leak in Oconomowoc
OCONOMOWOC -- Officials were on the scene of a water main break and gas leak in Oconomowoc -- near Saratoga Parkway and Revere Drive on Wednesday evening, February 10th.The call for this incident came in around 7:45 p.m.No injuries were reported.No one had to be evacuated.We Energies officials were called out to the scene.A We Energies spokeswoman tells FOX6 News some work was being done in the area by the water department when a gas line was struck.We Energies officials were able to make repairs to the damaged gas line.We're told 10 customers were impacted by the gas leak, and would be until repairs were complete.

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police officers got some special training on Monday, January 25th.We Energies was brought in for a lesson in safety with the officers.The training dealt with the dangers of electricity when first responders get to the scene of a house fire or an accident involving a utility pole.PHOTO GALLERY:"We just wanted to make sure that we explain some of these potential hazards so these first responders know what they face when they get there," Dale Harmeyer with We Energies said."They're teaching us safe distances, how to keep people back, where to stage people, when it's going to be safe to first responders in there," Officer Scott Lesnieski said.We Energies officials say if you ever see a downed wire, you should stay away from it, and call authorities.

MILWAUKEE -- A Wind Advisory is in effect for all of southeastern Wisconsin until 6:00 a.m. Thursday, December 24th -- and on Wednesday night, We Energies crews were dealing with a number of power outages.As of 10:30 p.m., there were 3,500 customers without power -- down from 5,500 customers.About 2,600 of those customers without power were on the northwest side of Milwaukee.This outage was caused by a damaged piece of equipment.That piece of equipment was in the area between 76th-80th Streets, and between Center Street and North Avenue.A separate outage in Waterford left 2,500 without power at its peak, but as of 10:30 p.m., that number was down to 300.A cause of that outage is under investigation.An outage was affecting about 400 people in Fox Point as well -- and We Energies crews were dealing with other scattered outages.The outages happened between 9:15-9:45 p.m. Wednesday.It's unclear at this point whether the high winds played any role in these outages.CLICK HERE to monitor the We Energies Outage Map.

"Extremely rare," but Shorewood residents frustrated by series of gas service interruptions
SHOREWOOD -- There is growing frustration in Shorewood over gas service interruptions.After a couple of weeks of confusion, Ken Kapp is concerned.On Tuesday, December 15th, the Shorewood man, who lives near the intersection of Edgewood and Downer, is a block away from where We Energies crews responded to another residential gas service interruption resulting from a contractor striking a main."It's not a very comfortable feeling," said Kapp.
