MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a couple of non-fatal shootings that happened Saturday evening, December 13th.The first happened near Sherman and Burleigh just before 6:30 p.m. Police say an 18-year-old Milwaukee man showed up at a hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A round table discussing domestic violence was held today, bringing people together who work with victims.More than 70 people from the domestic violence field gather together.The group included law enforcement, community services, and victims of domestic violence.At the forum, members discussed the best ways to handle protecting people from domestic violence, and enforcing the laws in place.Milwaukee police say the holidays add extra stress, which could lead to increased instances of violence."We recognize it's a stressful period in domestic situations, and last year with the cold weather, the agency and certainly district three saw a significant increase in domestic violence related aggravated assault," said Captain Jason Smith, with Milwaukee Police Department.Milwaukee has had several domestic violence related homicides in the past few weeks.

Arrested: 16-year-old boy caught trying to burglarize north side home

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A burglary suspect was arrested by the Milwaukee Police Department after officers find him trying to steal items from a north side home.Officers were dispatched to a home in the 2800 block of N. 16th Street at about 12:15 p.m. on December 11 for a report of a burglary.When they arrived at the scene, officers talked with the victim, a 67-year-old Milwaukee man, who told them he had just returned home and heard loud noises coming from the second floor.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police say a 13-year-old girl was hit by a car on the city's lower East Side on Tuesday evening, December 9th.It happened near Marshall and Juneau around 5:45 p.m.Police say a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old woman was driving westbound when her vehicle hit the girl.The girl suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.Police say at this point, alcohol is not believed to have played a role in this incident.
