Family shocked to find victim of gun violence dead on their doorstep near 24th and Auer

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A body was discovered Sunday, January 11th on the doorstep of a homeowner who says she doesn't know the victim or how he got there.

Milwaukee police say the victim is a 33-year-old Milwaukee man who was apparently shot to death. He has been identified as Antrone Lowe.

A family living near N. 24th Place and Auer says Sunday morning was one they won't soon forget.

"The dead body was right here -- on the front steps," the homeowner told FOX6 News.

That homeowner, who asked that FOX6 News not use her name, says the man was found unresponsive. She says his head was at the base of steps leading up to her home.

The family living at the home called 911 after finding the body.

"They basically just wanted to know what was going on.  They wanted to know what happened and what position he was in," the homeowner said.

Police interviewed the family. The homeowners say they don't know the victim or where he came from.

"I didn't hear anything last night," the homeowner said.

Sunday's shock is prompting this woman to pack her bags to escape the violence and the horror that comes with it.

"There's nothing you can do but move. Children live (in this neighborhood). I've never walked outside and seen a dead body -- a gunshot victim sitting there in plain view. Never. We have been so desensitized. My sister didn't say 'oh my God, there's a dead body.' She said 'it's so much drama,'" the homeowner said.

Milwaukee police say no one is in custody in connection with this fatal shooting.
