MILWAUKEE -- Marshall High School received a $25,000 grant from State Farm.The grant, presented Tuesday, January 31st was part of "State Farm Neighborhood Assist," a program that empowers communities to identify issues in their neighborhoods.Marshall High School was one of the top 40 causes from across the country voted to win this grant.School officials said the money will be used to create an engineering makerspace, complete with 3D printers and scanners."Engineering makerspace.

'Modern Family' co-creator picked for Wisconsin commencement

MADISON — Phil Dunphy from "Modern Family" can't understand why the University of Wisconsin would invite a guy named Steven Levitan to deliver its spring commencement address.Levitan explains in a video released by UW-Madison that he was picked because he is a 1984 graduate who went on to help create the hit TV show "Modern Family." UW-Madison student convicted in racial arsons starting pro-white group

MADISON — A student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison charged with arsons at two predominantly black churches years ago is recruiting on campus for a local chapter of a national pro-white party.The 33-year-old Daniel Dropik said Thursday he is starting a Madison chapter of the American Freedom Party, though has not yet registered the group as an official student organization.Students are planning a Tuesday march protesting Dropik's efforts.

New details: Marquette University's $600M plan to transform its Milwaukee campus
