Four Marquette players disciplined for game at WVU

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) -- Marquette leading scorer Darius Johnson-Odom is among four Golden Eagles players disciplined for the game at West Virginia for an undisclosed violation of team rules.Marquette spokesman Scott Kuykendall says starters Johnson-Odom, Junior Cadougan and Vander Blue were benched for the first half Friday night.

Six Marquette fraternities placed on probation

MILWAUKEE -- Six Marquette University fraternities have been placed on probation as of February 16th through Fall of 2012 for alcohol-related violations.Marquette University said in a statement Monday the frats violated their own organizational policies, as well as those of the university and the interfraternity council, but would not give specifics on the violations.Marquette University says probation is a formal notice to an organization that its behavior is unacceptable within the university community, and if continued, more severe action may be taken.The organizations have not been suspended, and have the right to appeal the probation.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Jae Crowder had 20 points and 12 rebounds, helping No. 15 Marquette rally from a sluggish first half to beat Seton Hall 66-59 on Tuesday night.Vander Blue scored 16 points and Darius Johnson-Odom added 14 for the Golden Eagles (19-4, 8-2 Big East), who extended their winning streak to seven games.Trailing at halftime, Marquette turned to Blue and Johnson-Odom in a 16-2 run to take the lead midway through the second half.Herb Pope scored 16 points for the Pirates (15-7, 4-6), who have lost five straight.Former Marquette standout Dwyane Wade attended the game, along with Miami Heat teammate LeBron James.
