The 5.4 quake struck just after 9:30 a.m. Alaska Time and was centered in a remote coastal area about 110 miles south of Anchorage.

Partly cloudy skies tonight with temperatures dropping into the low 40s near the lake to mid and upper 30s inland. Partly cloudy skies Thursday with highs in the mid-50s and breezy at times. Mostly cloudy on Friday for Halloween and cooler with a slight chance of showers at night. A few more showers are possible Saturday, then drying back out with sunshine heading into early next week.

Watching rain and thunderstorms this morning with a chance for stronger or severe storms in parts of southern Wisconsin. After the storms wind down we will still warm into the upper 80s and low 90s with high dewpoints. We remain hot and sticky Thursday and into Friday. The heat will break by the weekend. After today the next chance for rain comes on Friday and lingers into early Saturday morning.

An air quality alert was issued for all of southeast Wisconsin until noon Tuesday, July 25 due to Canadian wildfire smoke. Meanwhile, the FOX6 Weather Experts say the heat and humidity return starting Tuesday, with a high in the low 90s and a heat index of 99 Wednesday and 102 Thursday.

Another smoky start to our day with the Air Quality Alert in place until Noon. Air quality should improve by this afternoon. Hot and very humid for the next several days. Highs will be in the low 90s today and tomorrow with dewpoints in the upper 60s and low 70s. There is a slight risk of showers or thunderstorms mostly north of the Milwaukee Metro today and a better chance of rain and thunderstorms across SE Wisconsin tomorrow. We warm even further Thursday and stay in the 90s Friday before a very welcome break on the weekend.
