Frank Almond will play Stradivarius in Brookfield on Monday

BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- For the first time since he was tased and separated from the valuable Stradivarius violin, Frank Almond is set to take the stage with the now famous instrument on Monday, February 10th in Brookfield -- and it's the hottest ticket in town."It`s going to be a significant concert experience because of everything that`s happened," Jonathan Winkle, Executive Director for the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center in Brookfield told FOX6 News on Sunday.

Suspect taken into custody after shooting incident in Waukesha

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- FOX6 News has learned a suspect accused of firing shots at a vehicle in Waukesha Wednesday evening, February 5th has been taken into custody.Waukesha police were notified around 4:00 p.m. of shots being fired in the 2100 block of Kensington, near an apartment complex.Residents of the complex called police -- claiming a vehicle had been shot at in the parking lot.Police discovered there were two people who were in the car when it was shot.

Vote expected February 18th on Brookfield Von Maur

BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- The Von Maur department store is one step closer to coming to the Town of Brookfield.The town's Community Development Authority voted unanimously to approve creation of the TIF District that would give the formal okay for the store to break ground.It's a $125 million development project.The town would put over $43 million toward the project.The Town Board will vote on the proposal on February 18th.

Work on WIS 83 to begin in Waukesha County

Repair of bumps force rolling closure on I-94 in Waukesha Co.

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- A rolling closure along I-94 in Waukesha County beginning at 10 p.m. Wednesday night, January 29th  to mill down the ‘bumps’ that have formed on bridge overpasses."There's a number of locations along that stretch and we're gonna mill them all down tonight in the overnight hours," said Michael Pyritz, the DOT's Communications Manager.The DOT is focusing on three parts of I-94 in Waukesha County.

Man makes initial court appearance, accused in death of his father

VILLAGE OF SUMMIT (WITI) -- 27-year-old Shawn Witt made his initial court appearance Friday, January 24th after being taken into custody in connection with the death of his father, James Witt.James Witt was found dead in his residence on Wednesday, January 22nd by the Village of Summit Police Department.According to authorities, the Village of Summit Police Department responded to a domestic incident between a father and son on Elm Street on Tuesday, January 21st.

Former tenant speaks out on fire that killed Sarah Brucker

DELAFIELD (WITI) -- A recently released report on the death of Sarah Brucker is shedding light on the Town of Delafield house fire that killed the popular Milwaukee-area makeup artist in August 2013.The Waukesha County District Attorney tells FOX6 there is no evidence of a crime being committed in this case, and the cause of the fire is undetermined.

Missing Waukesha County teen located and safe

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department said on Friday afternoon, January 10th they had located a 14-year-old Merton girl reported missing at a residence in their county.14-year-old Sonja Tomasicyk was reported missing as of Thursday afternoon.Officials say the teen appears to be in good physical condition at this time.The details of her location while she was gone are being investigated.

Waukesha Co. Sheriff Daniel Trawicki announces retirement

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Waukesha County Sheriff Daniel Trawicki on Wednesday, January 8th announced he will not be seeking re-election for sheriff at the end of this term, and will retire.Trawicki is set to retire on December 31st, 2014 after almost 35 years of service to Waukesha County.Trawicki started as a cadet with the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department in 1979, and worked his way through the ranks.He has spent the last 12 years as Waukesha County Sheriff.

Traffic slow going on Monday as snow falls during rush hour commute

WAUKESHA COUNTY (WITI) -- Snow was falling across southeastern Wisconsin on Monday afternoon and evening -- and was beginning to accumulate during the evening commute on Monday.FOX6's Jenna Sachs was stationed along I-94 in Waukesha County on Monday evening -- monitoring the conditions.Law enforcement officials in Waukesha County responded to 23 property damage accidents, one minor personal injury accident, two unknown cause accidents and 13 vehicles in the ditch -- from 4:00 p.m. until 7:20 p.m.Early Monday evening, the State Patrol reported no major incidents on the roadways -- but they were ready to handle whatever popped up."We're geared up for the worst, but we're hoping for the best.

Waukesha County Sheriff's deputy under investigation

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- The City of Waukesha Police Department has initiated an investigation into a Waukesha County Sheriff's deputy after a complaint received by the agency involving one of the Lieutenants.The City of Waukesha has asked the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation (D.C.I.) to assist with the investigation.The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department is also in the process of conducting an internal review, independent of D.C.I.The Lieutenant has not been arrested or charged and is currently on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.Monitor FOX6 News and FOX6Now.com for more information on this developing story.
