CALEDONIA -- Police say a "Crest White Strips" thief may have struck again.Surveillance cameras captured the thief at the Walgreens store on Douglas Avenue in Caledonia.Police said the woman bolted from the store with four boxes of the White Strips, valued at more than $40 each.

Racine Zoo welcomes Naka, an Amur tiger who's lived in New York, Connecticut

RACINE -- Officials at the Racine Zoo are welcoming Naka, an Amur tiger!According to a statement from the Racine Zoo, Naka was born on June 7th, 2004 at the Rosemond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, New York.She was later moved to the Beardsley Zoo located in Connecticut in 2009.She arrived in Racine in December!Zoo officials said Naka weighs around 260 pounds and consumes 10 pounds of meat per day.

CALEDONIA -- Crews spent much of the day Monday, November 14th cleaning up diesel fuel after a serious crash in Caledonia.It happened on State Highway 38 near Nicholson Road in Caledonia.According to police, the crash involved two vehicles.

Hunter rescued after becoming lost in Racine County

BURLINGTON — A 64-year-old man who became lost while hunting in the Hoosier Creek public hunting grounds in the Burlington area was successfully rescued after about an hour.The Racine County Sheriff's Office says the Kenosha County man called authorities about 5 p.m. Wednesday, November 2nd.Deputies and members of the Burlington Fire Department organized a search, and authorities tracked the man using cellphone pings.The man was found unharmed about 6:00 p.m.He hasn't been identified.

Police: 20-year-old Mount Pleasant man struck by vehicle, killed on State Highway 32

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Mount Pleasant police say a 20-year-old man from Mount Pleasant was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash that happened on State Highway 32, north of Chicory Road Sunday morning, October 9th.Police say the man was struck by a vehicle around 4:30 a.m.The man was found in the northbound lanes of State Highway 32 with severe trauma to his head and body from impact with the northbound vehicle -- which remained at the scene.Police say the driver of the vehicle wasn't hurt.The 20-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.A preliminary investigation has revealed the vehicle was headed northbound on State Highway 32 in the right lane of the divided four-lane highway -- approximately three-tenths of a mile north of Chicory Road.Police say the area does not have street lighting, and is a darkened area of the roadway.The pedestrian was in the right traffic lane when he was struck by the vehicle.Police say the vehicle was being driven by a 27-year-old woman from Racine, who is cooperating with this investigation.The crash remains under investigation.
