Woman arrested in lobby of Wauwatosa PD after trying to pick up man arrested for OWI
WAUWATOSA (WITI) -- Wauwatosa police tell FOX6 News a woman in her mid-50s was arrested for OWI after trying to pick up a man who had been arrested for OWI earlier in the evening last Wednesday, December 3rd.Police say the man was arrested in the 700 block of Glenview Avenue in Wauwatosa just before midnight.The woman came to the police department to try to pick the man up, and police found her to be intoxicated.The woman submitted to a breath test, and was found to have a BAC of .08.In order for someone to come pick up a person arrested for OWI, that person has to be 100% sober and have a valid driver's license.The woman was arrested in the police department's lobby.

BUTLER (WITI) -- Police officers with the Butler Police Department, the Wauwatosa Police Department and the Brookfield Police Department on Thursday afternoon, October 16th came together to arrest an armed robbery suspect.The call came in to the Wauwatosa Police Department just before 12:30 p.m. Thursday from a business in the 4700 block of N. 124th Street -- reporting a suspicious person on their property.Wauwatosa police say before officers arrived at the scene, the subject displayed a handgun and stole a bottle of Gatorade -- before fleeing.Responding officers got a description of the man, and he was spotted soon after officers arrived.Wauwatosa police officers attempted to make contact with the man, but he fled into a wooded area -- toward a railroad yard east of 124th Street and west of Highway 45.Several squad cars responded to the scene.The man was taken into custody shortly after officers arrived.

WAUWATOSA (WITI) -- Tosafest 2014 continues Wauwatosa's 38 year tradition of music, food, and family fun to celebrate the historic village and community spirit on September 5th through the 6th.There is something for everyone at this year's Tosafest -- and every year it grows."We have a much larger kids area with lots of rides and activities, and we put the stage all the way at the far end of a large parking lot so it gives the people the sense of space, I think it's a great addition," said Wauwatosa Mayor, Kathy Ehley.But tradition has kept this fest going."This has been a long standing tradition for the last 38 years," said Taste of Tosa Organizer, John Raisler.The Taste of Tosa is a cupcake and chilli tasting competition."This year, we're looking at 14 cupcakes across the whole bar and about 7 chilli's this year.
