BUSTED: Illinois men arrested in Kenosha, in possession of crystal meth

KENOSHA (WITI) -- Two Illinois men were busted -- arrested and taken to jail on felony charges of possession with intent to deliver crystal meth after law enforcement officials in Kenosha conducted a "controlled purchase" on Wednesday morning, August 27th.Shortly after 10:00 a.m., members of the Kenosha Drug Operations Group, the Milwaukee DEA, the Kenosha Police Department's Gang Intelligence Unit, Kenosha police officers and a Kenosha County Sheriff's Department K9 Deputy Sheriff conducted the controlled purchase, and subsequent arrests.The arrests occurred in the 8000 block of 60th Avenue.Police say 30-year-old Omar Villalobos of Harvey, Illinois and 33-year-old Jesus Flores of Posen, Illinois were taken into custody.

Neighbors in Kenosha alert homeowners to fire; all able to safely escape

KENOSHA (WITI) -- Firefighters in Kenosha battled a fire that occurred at a home on 19th Avenue just after midnight on Sunday, August 3rd.It happened in the 1600 block of 19th Avenue.Fire officials say upon their arrival at the scene, flames were visible on the back side of the home.

Construction accident: OSHA investigating after worker becomes trapped at Amazon complex site

KENOSHA (WITI) -- Kenosha police and fire officials were called out to a construction accident that occurred at the site of the Amazon Distribution Center complex being built on Burlington Road in Kenosha.The call came in just before 3:30 p.m.Officials were dispatched for a report of a worker pinned between a beam and an aerial lift in the Onyx Building on the construction site.Before emergency crews responded to the scene -- co-workers were able to free the worker who was trapped.We're told no one saw the accident happen, or how the worker became trapped.The 35-year-old worker was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

DOT: Ramps at WIS 50 in Kenosha County to reopen Tuesday morning

KENOSHA (WITI) -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is scheduled to reopen the I-94 West (Northbound) exit and I-94 East (Southbound) entrance ramps at WIS 50 in Kenosha County by 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, July 1st, weather permitting.The ramps have been closed since March as crews reconstructed the eastbound lanes of WIS 50 between 104th and 130th avenues.

KENOSHA (WITI) -- Kenosha police say a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal tavern shooting has turned himself in -- and is in custody.M.L. Dale was described by police as "armed and dangerous."Police say Dale turned himself in around 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 29th.Police believe Dale to be responsible for a shooting in a tavern in the 2400 block of 52nd Street -- the Shenanigans Tavern and Liquor Store.Police say a 31-year-old Gurnee, Illinois woman was struck, after police say a black man entered the tavern with a pistol and began shooting -- before fleeing the bar.She was pronounced dead at the hospital.Police were searching for Dale after this shooting -- which occurred around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, June 28th.The shooting has left the neighborhood on edge.Javier Jaramillo works right next door to Shenanigans Tavern and Liquor Store.

Police: Man pronounced dead after body found in water near Southport Beach

Police: BMO Harris Bank in Kenosha robbed twice within past two weeks

Inspired by one of their own: Kenosha high schoolers donate to Children's Hospital program

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Kenosha high school students gave back in a big way on Thursday, June 12th.Students from Kenosha Bradford High School presented a check for $12,800 to Children's Hospital's "Flashes of Hope" program.The program pays for a professional photographer to take pictures of cancer patients with a loved one, and they're then given copies.The Bradford students began raising the money after a fellow student was diagnosed with leukemia.
