Construction incident: Crane topples in Zoo Interchange, operator not hurt

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A construction crane toppled over in the Zoo Interchange construction site on Wednesday afternoon, April 1st.Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) tell FOX6 News the apparatus that tipped over is a 25-ton crane; it's one of the smallest pieces of equipment on the construction site.

MILWAUKEE COUNTY (WITI) -- The US 45 southbound to I-94 westbound system ramp in the Zoo Interchange will close for a seven-day period beginning Thursday, March 26th and reopening Thursday, April 2nd.The ramp needs to close to facilitate remaining construction of a temporary roadway that traffic will be shifted to following the closure."We need to make a new connection for this system onto the westbound lanes and (Wednesday night) we start making that change and then the contractor will start making that temporary roadway from the southbound to westbound ramp," Mark Klipstein with the Wisconsin DOT said.

Attention drivers: Work begins at the end of the week on I-43 in Walworth, Waukesha counties

WALWORTH/WAUKESHA COUNTIES (WITI) -- Beginning Friday, March 27th, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is scheduled to recommence work on I-43, from US 12 to WIS 83, in Walworth and Waukesha Counties.A single lane closure on I-43 (southbound) is scheduled to begin Friday.

Reconstruction of Hwy. 83 in Village of Wales set to begin Wednesday
