13 years in prison for man prosecutors say shot ex's brother over theft of $20, amid Facebook dispute

MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee man accused in the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend's brother, which prosecutors say happened amid an ongoing Facebook feud involving the ex has been sentenced to prison.Marcus Sutton, 32, of Milwaukee in June pleaded guilty to one count of second degree reckless homicide.In court on Thursday, Aug. 16, Sutton was sentenced to serve 13 years in prison and 10 years extended supervision.According to a criminal complaint, on Nov. 19, 2017, police responded to a shooting in an alley near 9th and Lapham.

Jury convicts Milwaukee man in fatal shooting of man who 'was being disrespectful,' prompting argument

MILWAUKEE -- Donte Brown, 36, of Milwaukee has been convicted in connection with the shooting death of Johnathan Evans, which happened near  29th and Roosevelt in April of 2017.A jury on Wednesday, Aug. 15 found Brown guilty of first degree reckless homicide, as party to a crime, and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony.He was remanded into custody, pending his sentencing hearing which is set for Oct. 12.His co-defendant, Chiqweeta Coleman, 34, in July pleaded guilty to two counts of resisting or obstructing an officer.

Women say Uber driver 'terrorized' them during 25-minute nightmare ride

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Three friends are speaking out two months after a nightmare 25-minute Uber ride through Sacramento, California left them fearing for their lives."I legitimately believed that we were going to die," said Theadora Fuerstenberg.It's an app thousands use every day but a June 15 Uber trip on Interstate 80 from a book club in Arden to Oak Park traumatized the three women."He would swerve in and out and then as he was doing this he would say, 'We're all going to die now,'" Fuerstenberg said.Fuerstenberg, Angela O'Neal and Katherine Vallaire say the Uber driver drove erratically and did not follow directions home.O'Neal was in the back seat and able to get through to 911 dispatchers.

Police release photos of 1 of 2 suspects wanted in armed robbery of business near 11th and Greenfield

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police need your help identifying two suspects accused of robbing a business near 11th and Greenfield.It happened on Aug. 12 around 2:15 p.m.Police said the two suspects entered the business, and the first displayed a black handgun -- and demanded and obtained money from the register.The second suspect demanded and obtained money from customers.Both suspects then fled on foot.The first suspect is described as a man in his 20s, black, standing 5'10" to 6' tall, weighing 150 to 170 pounds.

No evidence of shots fired on I-43 SB; investigation shut down freeway north of downtown Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Detectives with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office found no evidence of gunshots being fired on I-43 just north of downtown Milwaukee Tuesday, Aug. 14.Officials said witnesses reported hearing three shots fired on the freeway, on I-43 southbound at Fond du Lac Avenue -- and saw a vehicle strike the median wall.
