Police investigate four separate homicides in same area of city

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating four separate fatal shootings that occurred between August 31st and September 2nd.The first shooting incident occurred in the 3400 block of N. 8th Street at 9:12 p.m. on August 31st.  27-year-old Whitney Rhodes was shot inside of an apartment.Milwaukee police have arrested a 20-year-old Milwaukee man in connection with this homicide.The second shooting incident occurred in the 2900 block of N. 11th Street at 2:55 a.m. on September 1st. 19-year-old Krystal Witek was shot outside of a residence.Police say there are no suspects in custody and the investigation is ongoing.The third homicide occurred in the 2800 block of S. 8th Street. 47-year-old Abilio Smith was found dead from a gunshot wound inside his residence at 1:43 p.m. on September 2nd.Detectives believe that the victim may have been killed by someone he knew.

Police need your help to identify man suspected of arson

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee Police are seeking information on the identity of a person seen purchasing a bottle of charcoal lighter fluid at a gas station less than one block from an arson that happened a short time after the purchase was made.The individual bought the bottle of lighter fluid at about 2:10 a.m. on August 25, and there was subsequently an arson to a garage near S. 13th and Lincoln was between 2:10 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on the same date.The person is described as a male, Hispanic, 17-20 years old, 6' tall, thin, light complexion, having a short goatee/mustache, short brown hair with designs on the left side, wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt with "AND ONE" in white letters on the front, multicolored plaid shorts, and light ankle high athletic shoes.Anyone with information is asked to call Milwaukee Police at 414-935-7360.

Officers use "Find My iPhone" app to track down robbery suspect

MILWAUKEE (WITI) --  Milwaukee Police officers arrested a 17-year-old suspect within hours of an August 28th armed robbery on the Hank Aaron State Trail by using the victim's iCloud account and the "Find My iPhone" application.According to police, a 13-year-old West Allis boy was riding his bicycle on the Hank Aaron State Trail (at about 72nd Street) with a friend at about 5 p.m. on August 28th when the suspect grabbed the boy's handlebars and demanded his bicycle.The suspect then pulled out a knife and pushed the boy off the bike.

Police need your help to identify Bank Mutual robbery suspect

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Police Department is seeking information on the identity of the suspect responsible for an armed robbery that happened at the Bank Mutual branch at 48th and Burleigh shortly before 10 a.m. on August 23rd.The suspect entered the bank, pulled a black handgun from his waistband, and approached a teller.
