MFD rescues 4 people from burning home near Bremen and Keefe

MILWAUKEE -- Four people needed to be rescued from a burning home on Bremen Street near Keefe Avenue Thursday evening, December 7th.According to the Milwaukee Fire Department, the fire was on the second floor of the home -- trapping people inside.

MFD: Extremely heavy fire at Kern's Auto Repair Shop near 21st and Hampton

Milwaukee Fire Department employee arrested for sexual assault of a co-worker

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee officials report a male Milwaukee Fire Department heavy equipment operator was arrested for second-degree sexual assault by use of force against a female co-worker.The MFD employee was arrested at approximately 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2nd.According to MFD, the department arrested the man with the cooperation of the Washington County Sheriff's Office and the Milwaukee Fire Department Administration.The Milwaukee Fire Department will not be commenting at this time, as it is an ongoing investigation.

Crews called out to fire at recycling yard near 35th and Townsend

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Fire Department on Wednesday, November 15th welcomed 19 new firefighters.A graduation ceremony was held at the MFD Training Academy near Teutonia and Green Tree.Recruits spent the past 16 weeks preparing for their new jobs.As you can imagine, the training was both physically and mentally challenging.

MILWAUKEE -- A high-ranking Milwaukee firefighter, placed on paid suspension after he was charged in a domestic abuse case, has pleaded not guilty.47-year-old Leon Butts of Milwaukee is accused of beating and strangling his live-in girlfriend.Butts, in court Wednesday, November 8th for his arraignment -- pleaded not guilty.
