SOLD OUT! Packers officials say 73,000 tickets sold for "Family Night" on August 2nd

GREEN BAY (WITI) -- The Green Bay Packers have announced this year's Family Night is officially SOLD OUT!Nearly 73,000 tickets for the August 2nd event have been sold.This year’s sellout marks the eighth time in its 14 years the event has sold all available tickets.The evening is family-focused and will feature a game-like atmosphere with use of the video boards, gameday music and a fireworks show at the end of the night.Gates will open at 5:30 p.m.The event will benefit the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids foster care adoption program, a signature program of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.Activities include the popular Chili’s “Jerseys Off Our Backs” promotion with Packers jerseys – all of which will have been worn by Packers players – to be given away in a random drawing, the Copps–Pick ‘N Save Family Night Picnic and the spectacular Copps–Pick ‘N Save Fireworks Show to conclude the night.Parking for the event will be $5, with net proceeds to be donated to the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Program.In case of inclement weather, no refunds will be issued unless all stadium activities – from 5:30 p.m. until the end of the fireworks show – are cancelled.You can watch Family Night on FOX6 on August 2nd!

As Packers continue to build on Lambeau Field, houses are being demolished

GREEN BAY (WITI) -- As the Green Bay Packers continue to build on to the stadium, the team is doing the opposite with some area houses.A block of houses, south of the stadium, started coming down Thursday, June 5th.“Well my first thought was 'well, there goes the neighborhood,'” said Stephen Hermann of Ashwaubenon.Neighbors near Lambeau Field watched the demolitions Thursday.They're wondering whether their home could someday meet the same fate as the ones on Barberry Lane.“It worries us a little bit, but it is what it is,” said Hermann.Hermann rents a home on Ridge Road, just around the corner from the homes being demolished.“We’re surrounded by houses and when it’s all said and done, it’s going to be pretty much fields,” said Hermann.Fields that will be used for parking.In all, twelve houses will be demolished during the next few weeks.
