Miller Park Board says stadium tax to end between 2016, 2020
MILWAUKEE -- The Miller Park Stadium Board met Tuesday to discuss the end date for the stadium tax.The board says the .1 percent sales will go at least another four years, ending between 2016 and 2020.The tax affects five counties: Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Waukesha, Racine and Kenosha, and is being used to pay off the construction costs of the stadium.The board says there are two key variables that impact the end date: the amount of sales tax collected each year, and the amount of interest earned on the tax.
Tickets for August Stars and Stripes Honor Flight event now on sale
MILWAUKEE -- Stars and Stripes Honor Flight will fill Miller Park in August for what's being billed as "a once-in-a-generation event."The event set for Saturday, August 11th will be titled "Field of Honor: A Salute to the Greatest Generation." It will bring together thousands of World War II veterans, veterans from other conflicts, their families, friends and communities.The event will feature the world premiere of the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight documentary on the Miller Park High-Definition Video Board and a special viewing of the official model of the WWII Memorial on loan before going to the Smithsonian.Tickets are $11 per person and will go on sale to the public on Tuesday, March 27th.
