MADISON -- Governor Scott Walker directed the Wisconsin National Guard and Wisconsin Emergency Management to once again provide assistance for a special holiday traveler Wednesday night, as he makes his annual rounds through the Badger State."This is a mission we look forward to every year," Walker said. "By tasking the Wisconsin National Guard and Wisconsin Emergency Management with providing food and water for the reindeer, along with hot cocoa and weather updates for Santa Claus, we are doing our part to help the jolly old elf deliver presents to all the good boys and girls in Wisconsin."Maj.

Milwaukee Police Department District 5 officers give back to family that's been through a lot

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police officers made an effort to give back to some of those they serve ahead of Christmas on Wednesday, December 23rd.Officers with MPD's District Five played the role of Santa Claus for a family they adopted this holiday season.The family has gone through a lot -- with the mother recently suffering a brain aneurysm, and receiving treatment in the hospital.

Yum! Try Chef Foster Deadman's Brown Butter French Toast for Christmas morning breakfast

Between the presents and the excitement, Christmas morning can be a bit hectic -- and that's before you consider that you'll need to cook breakfast.Chef Foster Deadman appeared on Studio A on Monday, December 14th, with a recipe that utilizes items you may already have in your pantry.Turns out, you can repurpose all that cookie and cake decorating fun for donuts and cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning.Brown Butter French Toast (made from last night's French bread)IngredientsBatter2 whole eggs1 cup milk1 tablespoon sugar1/2 tsp vanilla extractCinnamon on the side for laterFrench bread cut into 3/4 inch slices on a biasButter -- about 2 sticks, but depends on the amount of bread1) Heat griddle or iron skillet to around 350 degrees or medium heat2) Add the butter to the skillet and move the butter around until the butter becomes a light brown3) Quickly add the French bread to the batter, remove and shake of excess, then in the pan with the delicious butter4) Sprinkle with cinnamon while the first side cooks5) Once golden brown on the first side flip and finish cooking for an additional 1 to 2 minutes6) Wipe pan and repeat as many times as neededSyrup is always amazing -- but what about left over chocolate ganache, Nutella, or some of those wonderful preserves and jams you just got at the work Christmas party?

"That's your baby brother!" Big sisters find amazing surprise under the Christmas tree

Three little girls got an amazing surprise this Christmas -- a new baby brother!Courtney Solstad shared a video on Facebook saying that her daughters had no idea Nathan was being adopted, so they put him under the tree to surprise his big sisters.Solstad said on Facebook: "We met them at the door and told them that we had been out Christmas shopping and got them a gift to share...and it was under the tree!"The video has been viewed on Facebook more than 130,000 times.

Mitchell Airport officials expect 16% increase in Thanksgiving-related travel this year
