Remember those who fought for our freedom at the 150th Annual Memorial Day Parade

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The 150th Annual Memorial Day Parade in Milwaukee takes place Monday afternoon, May 25th.Beginning at 2 p.m., the parade will start on 4th Street and turn down Wisconsin Avenue towards the War Memorial Center.The parade will feature color guards, marching units and military vehicles.A wreath-laying ceremony will follow.

Salute to service: Thousands of American flags placed at graves in Wood National Cemetery

WOOD NATIONAL CEMETERY (WITI) -- There is a massive undertaking going on at Wood National Cemetery this weekend.American flags will be placed at more than 34,000 graves at the cemetery -- it's part of a Memorial Day tradition.Bill Janowski, the foreman at Wood National Cemetery, says he is thankful his four-man crew gets a lot of help placing the flags at the gravesites.

Road construction suspended to accommodate heavy traffic during Memorial Day weekend

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- To help an anticipated surge of holiday travelers reach their destination safely and efficiently, construction work on most major highway projects around the state will be suspended during the three-day Memorial Day weekend, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).Most construction in work zones will cease by noon on Friday, May 22, and will not resume until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26.
