MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- An MPS spokesman confirmed to FOX6 News on Wednesday, April 3rd that 719 MPS staff members, including 503 teachers will leave the district after this school year.MPS Spokesman Tony Tagliavia says this was anticipated by the district, and that is why the district has been holding recruitment events leading up to the 2013-2014 school year.”We have a significant number of employees, including teachers, who are retirement eligible.

Teacher's aide pulled from school after alleged slapping incident

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A Milwaukee family is accusing an MPS teacher's aide of slapping a four-year-old boy after school on Monday, March 11th.The boy's mother says this incident was final straw that caused her to pull her four-year-old son out of preschool at Keefe Avenue Elementary School in Milwaukee.On Monday morning, the boy's mother told FOX6 News the boy said he did not want to go to school because of a teacher's aide in his class."He just said his teacher kept messing with him.
