MADISON — The Ho-Chunk Nation has voted to change the rules on using marijuana on its tribal lands.Ho-Chunk announced Saturday that its General Council voted to reverse a policy that made the use and sale of marijuana on tribal lands illegal.

Walworth County sheriff's officials seek two in connection with drug activity

WALWORTH COUNTY -- The Walworth County Sheriff's Office is looking for two subjects in connection with delivery of marijuana and cocaine.Authorities are seeking 25-year-old Annakaren De La Torre and  26-year-old Cruz Martin-Flores.De Le Torre is described as a white female, standing 5'7" tall, weighing 219 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.Martin-Flores is described as a white male, standing 5'8" tall, weighing 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.According to officials, from July to October of 2012, De La Torre and Martin-Flores were involved with several drug transactions with a confidential informant.

Lawmakers seek to legalize possession of marijuana byproduct

MADISON -- A Wisconsin committee has taken up a bill that would allow residents to legally possess a marijuana byproduct to treat severe seizure disorders.Lawmakers and parents told the Assembly Committee on Children and Families on Wednesday that they want to approve the bill so parents can legally possess the derivative that doesn't produce a high in users.

Common Council sends proposal to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana back to committee

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A plan to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana in Milwaukee has been put on hold -- at least for now.Milwaukee Common Council members spent more than an hour talking about this issue on Tuesday morning, May 12th -- before sending it back to committee.The proposal wouldn't legalize the drug -- but it would reduce the punishments for those in possession of small amounts of it.Alderman Nik Kovac, a supporter of the measure, wants the fine to be no more than $50, based on input from Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn, who said the original plan for a $5 fine was too low.Some aldermen say they need more time to make a decision."We have not heard from the different municipal judges that may or may not have concerns about it," Alderman Robert Puente said."This is currently not an enforcement priority for the police.

Police: Wausau men tried to buy, sell $3.1 million worth of marijuana

WAUSAU (AP) — A Wisconsin bar owner and another man are charged with trying to buy and resell $3.1 million worth of marijuana through the bar.Scott Kurzynski, who owns Paradox of Wausau tavern, was charged Monday with felony conspiracy to manufacture or deliver marijuana and misdemeanor bail jumping.The other man, Timothy Kleinschmidt, faces four felony charges.
