Police say 37-year-old Justin Lannigan called 911 on Sunday to say he stabbed and killed his landlord.

Lannigan has not been formally charged, but search warrants reveal he told police he needed medical attention for cuts on his hand because he stabbed his landlord.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identifies the victim as 74-year-old David Grosse.

Milwaukee police did a welfare check near 31st and State where Lannigan told police he was living. They found Grosse stabbed to death.

Search warrants say Lannigan told police he had been watching TikTok frequently and was paranoid Grosse put cameras in his unit to spy on him.
Investigators say Lannigan asked Grosse to come look at his refrigerator – and that is when he stabbed him "uncontrollably."
Search warrants say Lannigan then went to his mom's house in West Allis. That is where police say he called them, turned himself in and was arrested.

"He was personable, he knows everybody in the neighborhood. He’s a good landlord," said June Brown, a tenant who described the victim and her landlord. "My heart sunk. My heart sunk. And seeing that makes me want to cry."
