Smoky conditions today with an Air Quality Alert until Noon on Tuesday. We heat up this week with upper 80s likely today - although cooler lakeside. An air quality alert was issued for all of southeast Wisconsin until noon Tuesday, July 25 due to Canadian wildfire smoke. Meanwhile, the FOX6 Weather Experts say the heat and humidity return starting Tuesday, with a high in the low 90s and a heat index of 99 Wednesday and 102 Thursday.

High pressure moves to our east and a disturbance moves in from the west today and tonight. Highs today will reach the low to mid 80s with cooler conditions lakeside. A stronger lake breeze will push inland in the later afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms are possible overnight into early Thursday morning. We dry up again Friday and Saturday. Rain is possible again on Sunday and into Monday. Much warmer air arrives next week.

High pressure again dominates our forecast keeping us calm and clear. Highs will reach 80 today in most areas but will fall lakeside as a lake breeze develops later in the afternoon. A disturbance arrives late Wednesday with rain and thunderstorms expected overnight into early Thursday. We warm up and get a bit more humid later this week and a bigger warm up arrives early next week.

A tornado warning was issued Thursday evening in Walworth and Rock counties, and FOX6 viewers shared photos and videos of funnel clouds. FOX6 Weather Expert Tom Wachs says this was "spotter-based," not seen on radar.
