WAUKESHA -- Waukesha County sheriff's officials say a man was taken into protective custody following a tactical situation on Thursday, November 5th.This was occurring on Green Mountain Drive (in a subdivision off Oakdale Drive) in the Town of Vernon on Thursday afternoon.Sheriff's officials say they were alerted to the situation by a family member of the suicidal man.Officials talked with the man for a lengthy period of time -- and he eventually came out of the residence he was in, and cooperated with sheriff's officials.No one was hurt during this incident.This incident began around 1:30 p.m., and the scene was cleared by about 5:00 p.m.The 47-year-old man was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.

WAUKESHA -- Waukesha police are seeking two suspects after the Verizon Wireless store on Silvernail Road in Waukesha was robbed at gunpoint on Thursday evening, October 8th.It happened around 6:00 p.m.Police say two male suspects entered the store, and one suspect displayed a handgun.The suspects were able to get away with an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise -- and both fled on foot towards Meadow Lane.No shots were fired, and no one was injured.No one is in custody.The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department and New Berlin Police Department also responded to assist in this investigation.The descriptions of the suspects are as follows:Suspect #1: An African-American male between the ages of 19 and 25 -- with a slim build, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and red pants.Suspect #2: An African-American male -- with an average build, standing tall, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.Police say suspect #2 is responsible for pointing the handgun in this case.Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Waukesha police.Monitor FOX6 News and FOX6Now.com for updates on this developing story.

Intruder enters Waukesha school, assaults office workers and parent

WAUKESHA -- A spokesperson for the Waukesha School District says an unidentified man entered Lowell Elementary School on Tuesday morning, September 29th -- but was stopped by office personnel.A news release indicates the man entered the school just after 9 a.m. When questioned by two clerical staff members, the man then assaulted them -- and then proceeded to exit the building.

Busted: 17-year-old boy arrested after three sexual assaults near Carroll University

WAUKESHA -- Waukesha police say a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with three sexual assaults that occurred near the Carroll University campus on Friday, September 18th.On Tuesday evening, September 22nd, after releasing a photo of a suspect in this case, police say they received many calls and tips on Facebook indicating the identity of the sexual assault suspect.The suspect was taken into custody and is currently at the Racine County Jail.Police say the person in custody is a 17-year-old white male.
