Officials: Driver extricated after rollover crash on I-43

MILWAUKEE COUNTY -- North Shore Fire and Rescue responded to a rollover crash early Sunday, April 30th on southbound I-43 near Green Tree.Officials say the vehicle ended up on its roof -- and crews had to extricate the driver.

They may be "good for 10 years," but it's still important to be sure smoke detectors are working!

Traffic blocked to I-43 from Silver Spring after crash involving multiple vehicles

Westbound and eastbound traffic to I-43 from Silver Spring was blocked Monday evening, February 27th as a result of a crash.Officials with the North Shore Fire Department said multiple vehicles were involved in the crash and multiple people were hurt.PHOTO GALLERYCrews had to perform an auto extrication.The extent of injuries is unclear at this point.

Cat rescued, but no one hurt after fire in second-floor bedroom of home in River Hills

MILWAUKEE -- Officials with North Shore Fire/Rescue say three people were hurt in a crash that shut down I-43 northbound near Good Hope on Tuesday night, November 1st.It happened around 10:45 p.m.North Shore Fire/Rescue officials said two of those hurt were taken to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.A third person was taken to Froedtert Hospital.All are believed to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries.Traffic was being diverted off of I-43 at Good Hope, as all lanes were blocked during the crash investigation.The scene was cleared shortly before 12:30 a.m., according to the DOT.Monitor FOX6 News and FOX6Now.com for updates on this story.

1 person hurt in crash involving dump truck at Brown Deer, Green Bay Road in Brown Deer

BROWN DEER -- Officials with the North Shore Fire Department say one person had to be taken to the hospital from the scene of a crash on Brown Deer Road at Green Bay Road Wednesday, September 21st.Fire officials say a vehicle traveling westbound on Brown Deer Road turning south onto Green Bay Road failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle traveling eastbound.The eastbound vehicle then struck a dump truck as a result of the crash.The person who was taken to the hospital is believed to have suffered non-life threatening injuries.PHOTO GALLERY

Couple rescued by North Shore Fire after falling down bluff in Whitefish Bay

WHITEFISH BAY -- Officials with the North Shore Fire Department on Sunday, August 7th rescued a man and woman who fell down a bluff on Palisades Road -- near Lake Drive and Henry Clay in Whitefish Bay.It happened shortly before 3:00 p.m.The man and woman, in their early 80s, were walking near the bluff when they fell.The man was able to scramble back up the bluff on his own.The woman was rescued by North Shore firefighters.It is estimated they fell about 50 feet.Both were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.Monitor FOX6 News and FOX6Now.com for updates on this developing story.

Jewish Community Center evacuated due to unknown odor, irritant

WHITEFISH BAY -- The Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Whitefish Bay has been evacuated due to an unknown odor or irritant.Officials with the North Shore Fire Department tell FOX6 News the initial call for this case came in just after 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 16th.
