MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) announced a program on Thursday, February 11th that will provide free, smart card bus passes for people who need a ride to register to vote or to receive identification documents necessary to vote.MCTS developed a grant process to allow community groups and non-profit organizations already engaged in promoting voter registration, and voter IDs to obtain MCTS bus passes for distribution through their programs.The program is only for organizations who will then administer the passes.

WisDOT: Traffic deaths in January were the second lowest since World War II

MILWAUKEE -- Last month 28 people died in Wisconsin traffic crashes, which made it the second safest month of January in terms of traffic fatalities since World War II, according to preliminary statistics from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).The safest month of January was in 2010 with 20 fatalities.

WisDOT: Citizens age 65 and over can now get non-expiring ID card

MILWAUKEE -- Wisconsin now allows its residents who are U.S. citizens age 65 and over to obtain an ID card which never needs to be renewed.
