Co. Board to take up proposal to increase parking fees at airport
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Prices for flights are on the rise, and now, parking at Mitchell International Airport could soon cost a little more as well.A Milwaukee County Board Committee approved a proposal that would increase daily parking costs by 50 cents at all of its garages and lots. The increase is said to help make up lost revenue at the airport, since there are fewer people flying. The increase would result in a $2.6 million boost annually. However, one County supervisor believes an extra 50 cents is an inconvenience."It's not a chicken feed thing as far as a $2.6 million, you know, revenue enhancer, but let's just keep it simple and go with dollars," County Supervisor Mark Borkowski said. The proposal now moves on to the full County Board.
