Weather causing delays, cancellations at Mitchell Airport

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The weather is wreaking havoc at airports across the country -- including General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee.

The cold, along with snow in other places has created flight delays and cancellations.

FOX6 News found people out at Mitchell sleeping in chairs Tuesday morning, January 7th.

One frustrated passenger told us what happened after her flight was cancelled.

"They wanted to send us from here to Denver, to Oakland, to L.A. and them possibly to Tucson -- five flights in one day to get to Tucson, Arizona," Ilene Southwick said.

Southwick ended up rescheduling for a flight on Thursday.

One passenger said another reason for the delays and cancellations is that a number of the flight crews are being forced to rest.

If you have a flight coming up -- it is best to check with your airline to determine any delays or cancellations.
