MILWAUKEE -- The "last student attendance day" for Milwaukee Public Schools students this school year is Monday, June 13th -- and on Thursday, June 9th, Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn held a roll call in the street in an effort to make sure the last few days of the school year are safe ones.The roll call was held outside James Madison Academic Campus on Milwaukee's northwest side.Police said there will be community outreach officers around the schools through Monday.

Police investigate burglaries at two Milwaukee Public Schools

MILWAUKEE -- Police are investigating burglaries at two Milwaukee Public Schools.One incident happened Sunday, May 1st at Engleburg Elementary School near 91st and Hampton.The other incident happened on April 16th at Lancaster School near 76th and Hampton.Police say the suspects entered the schools, forced entry to several classrooms and stole items from the school, including laptops.No suspects are in custody.

Man who served as principal at Longfellow School since 2003 accused of sexually assaulting a child

MILWAUKEE COUNTY -- A man who served as the principal at Longfellow School near Layton Boulevard and National Avenue in Milwaukee since 2003 resigned from that position on March 25th -- and less than three weeks later, criminal charges were filed against him.
