Milwaukee shootings Wednesday; 2 killed, 5 injured
MILWAUKEE - Two people were killed and five were injured in different shootings across Milwaukee on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
40th and Cheyenne
What we know:
Three people were shot just after 6:30 p.m. and one person was taken into custody.
Police said the first victim, a 56-year-old, sustained gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The second victim, a 54-year-old, also went to the hospital for gunshot wounds.

Scene near 40th and Cheyenne
The third victim, a 22-year-old, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police said a 32-year-old was taken into custody. Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
28th and Atkinson
What we know:
A 17-year-old was fatally shot around 4:45 p.m. – and the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Zaniya Booker.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation. Police continue to seek an unknown shooter.
89th and Thurston
What we know:
A 41-year-old was wounded in a shooting around 12:30 a.m.

Fatal shooting investigation near 28th and Atkinson, Milwaukee
The victim, a 41-year-old, was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation.
