Police examine contents of package at Brookfield business

BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- Brookfield police were called to a business near 124th and Townsend on Tuesday afternoon, May 28th to deal with what appeared to be a suspicious package.The call came after officials say a disgruntled employee, a woman, dropped off a package at the business and claimed it had a dangerous substance inside.Police and fire officials examined the contents of the package and do not believe it is hazardous.About six people at the business left on their own accord as a precaution.

Waukesha police to intensify safety belt law May 20 - June 2

Off-duty Waukesha Co. Sheriff's Detective arrested for OWI

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Waukesha County Sheriff's officials say a Sheriff's Detective was arrested on May 5th for an OWI.The detective is not being identified at this time, but Sheriff's officials say he has 23 years of service with the Sheriff's Department, and was off-duty at the time of the incident.The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department has initiated an internal investigation into this matter.The detective has been reassigned to administrative duties pending the outcome of the investigation.Monitor FOX6 News and FOX6Now.com for updates on this story.

Police say they acted appropriately in releasing Jaren Kuester

Aisha Jackson faces new criminal charge related to drugs

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Aisha Jackson faces a new criminal charge of possession with intent to deliver THC in Waukesha County.Jackson was sentenced in January for making fake 911 calls in order to avoid getting a ticket for her driving.On Wednesday, May 8th, Jackson was charged again.

UPDATE: Brookfield man stuck in Costa Rica hospital has died

Two children remain hospitalized after weekend crash

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Officials say two children remain in the hospital after a crash in Waukesha on Saturday, May 4th.A seven-year-old suffered a head injury and is in critical condition, while a four-year-old suffered a broken leg and remains in the hospital.The children's mother was also hospitalized after the crash.

Mother, 2 children seriously injured after truck slams into tree

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Waukesha police say two children and their 30-year-old mother suffered life threatening injuries when their truck lost control and crashed just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4th.The accident happened in the 700 block of Main Street in Waukesha.Officials say one child was transported via Flight for Life to Children's Hospital.
