TRAVIS COUNTY, TX -- An investigation is underway after a dump truck tipped over and killed a man in Texas.Officials say the incident occurred Friday, December 9th, in a neighborhood full of homes and some still under construction.According to authorities, while the dump truck was emptying out a load of dirt, somehow it was put off balance and it tipped over.The man was doing work on one of the new homes when the incident happened.

Threatened alligator snapping turtle rescued from Texas drainage pipe

HOUSTON — A 53-pound alligator snapping turtle found stuck in a Texas drainage pipe is recovering after fire-rescue crews freed the prehistoric-looking animal Tuesday.The turtle was found in Hockley, a residential development roughly 35 miles northwest of Houston, after a resident noticed it wedged in the end of a pipe and called the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.When the rescue team arrived, they determined the pipe was dented at the opening, preventing the turtle from passing through.

Officer on leave after video shows him restraining girl, pulling gun on teens at pool party
