Prosecutors promised in opening statements they'd be efficient in presenting their case in the Waukesha Christmas parade attack trial, and it appears they were. it took jurors around three hours to find Darrell Brooks guilty on all counts.

After a Waukesha County jury convicted her son of 76 charges in the Waukesha Christmas parade attack, Darrell Brooks' mother called for mental health awareness and referred to her son as a "caged bird."

Amber Kohnke, mother of Jessalyn Torres, an Xtreme Dance Team member severely injured in the Waukesha Christmas parade attack, said justice has been served after a jury convicted Darrell Brooks on all 76 counts.

David Sorenson, husband of Virginia Sorenson, a Milwaukee Dancing Grannies member killed in the Waukesha Christmas parade attack, said the family had her ashes in court as the jury convicted Darrell Brooks on all 76 counts.

After a jury convicted Darrell Brooks on all 76 counts related to the November 2021 Waukesha Christmas parade attack that killed six and injured more than 60, Waukesha Police Chief Dan Thompson said Brooks' actions don't define the community.

"It's obviously quite satisfying that Mr. Brooks has been found guilty and held accountable for his actions. We're very relieved."

As the guilty verdict was read Wednesday, convicting Darrell Brooks in the Waukesha Christmas parade attack, a man in the courtroom shouted, "Burn in hell, you piece of (expletive)."

"The verdicts probably didn't come as a surprise to everyone based on the evidence that was presented and the lack of a strong case by Mr. Brooks. This case has been a tremendous test, not only for the prosecution...but it was also a test for the judge, certainly."

Laurie Hogeland, a friend of some of the victims of the Waukesha Christmas parade attack, said Judge Dorow "needs a month's vacation" after the dramatic Darrell Brooks trial reached a conclusion Wednesday.

"On behalf of the court and all of the parties, we thank you for your service over the past 3.5 weeks," Judge Dorow said in discharging the jury after they convicted Darrell Brooks on all 76 counts in the Waukesha Christmas parade attack.
