Winners of MFD "Poster to Billboard" contest receive special lunch at fire station

MILWAUKEE -- Some Milwaukee students got a special lunch on Thursday, October 8th.They got to have lunch with the Milwaukee fire chief and Bucks mascot Bango at the fire station.The kids were all winners in the Milwaukee Fire Department's "Poster to Billboard" contest.These students created a poster to best show this year's theme, "Hear the Beep Where You Sleep: Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm."Besides lunch, the kids also received a free ticket to a Milwaukee Bucks game.The grand prize winner will get their poster made into a billboard.

MFD officials called out to fire at home on Euclid Avenue; occupants able to get out safely

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Fire Department officials were on the scene of a fire at a one-story ranch home on Euclid Avenue (near 68th and Oklahoma) on Tuesday night, September 8th.The fire was called in to the Milwaukee Fire Department around 9:00 p.m.All of the occupants of the home were able to get out safely.No injuries were reported.A damage estimate was not immediately available.The Red Cross was notified about this fire, but it's unclear whether the home's residents will be displaced as a result of the fire.Monitor FOX6 News and FOX6Now.com for updates on this developing story.

Three displaced after fire breaks out in home near 45th and Meinecke

MILWAUKEE -- Officials with the Milwaukee Fire Department say three people were displaced following a fire that occurred on Sunday afternoon, September 6th in a home near 45th and Meinecke.It happened shortly before 2:00 p.m.Firefighters found fire on the home's second floor and attic.No one was injured.The cause of the fire is under investigation.
