Amid sales drop, Harley-Davidson wants to teach more to ride

MILWAUKEE — Harley-Davidson is placing a renewed emphasis on teaching people to ride as part of its efforts to attract more customers.The Milwaukee-based company's decision to expand the number of dealerships with a Harley "Riding Academy" comes as the industry grapples with years of declining sales and an aging customer base.The program launched in 2000 with about 50 locations and now 245 dealerships in the U.S. offer the three- or four-day course.

MILWAUKEE -- House of Harley-Davidson, with locations in Milwaukee and Racine, is adding to its family of dealerships with a new location.A news release issued on Monday, July 31st indicates the House of Harley-Davidson plans to establish a Secondary Retail Location , or a satellite dealership under their main dealership in Greenfield, at 2842 S. 5th Court in Milwaukee.

Harley-Davidson recalls bikes; oil line can detach and cause crash

DETROIT — Harley-Davidson is recalling about 46,000 motorcycles in the U.S. because an oil line can come loose, spewing oil into the path of the rear tire.The recall covers certain 2017 Electra Glide, Road King, Street Glide and Road Glide models built from July 2, 2016 through May 9, 2017.Harley says a clamp on an engine oil cooler line may not have been installed correctly.

"Hogs for Heroes" seeks Wisconsin veteran who deserves a brand new Harley-Davidson!

MADISON -- A Madison non-profit organization is getting veterans back out on the road -- on brand new motorcycles!The organization is called "Hogs for Heroes" and the group's goal is to give brand new Harley-Davidson motorcycles to Wisconsin veterans.The group raises money, purchases a motorcycle and gifts it to a deserving Wisconsin veteran."Hogs for Heroes" has already given away two motorcycles, raising enough money to give away one more.
