Bria Jones
Bria Jones is an Emmy-nominated journalist excited to be joining the FOX6 nightside team.
She’s coming from her hometown market in Memphis, TN where she covered the city’s aggressive breaking news cycle, earning her a nomination for the city’s "Best Reporter." She was also a part of award-winning coverage for the "Memphis Shooting Rampage" where WREG-TV won first place in Large Market -- Best Coverage of Breaking News from the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters.
However, she’s no stranger to the Midwest and cold weather. Previously, Bria worked as a reporter/fill-in anchor in Flint, Michigan where she extensively covered crime and city government. She also took tough viewer questions to city hall in a bi-weekly show titled "Ask The Mayor."
Before that, she spent two years as a multimedia journalist in Northeast Louisiana. She started her professional broadcast career developing her news judgment as a digital associate producer in Memphis.
A proud southern belle, Bria spent time growing up between Arkansas, Texas and Tennessee.
While in college at St. John’s University in New York City, she interned at "The Wendy Williams Show," MTV and VH1.
She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and currently serves on the Broadcast Task Force Executive Board for the National Association of Black Journalists.
