MILWAUKEE COUNTY (WITI) -- Records reveal Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic swiped her key card at the Milwaukee County Courthouse just 16 times in a two-month period of time -- and it's drawing controversy.
For more than a year, there's been a heated debate regarding the jobs of Milwaukee County Supervisors.
"Everyone talks about how much the county supervisors work. Is it full-time? Is it part-time?" Joe Trawitzki said.
Trawitzki, a Bay View lawyer, took it upon himself to find out.
"You start hearing whispers. Who`s in the Courthouse? Who`s not in the Courthouse," Trawitzki said.
Trawitzki requested records showing how many times certain elected officials swiped their key cards at the Courthouse's employee parking lot.
"You're shocked! It's a validation," Trawitzki said.
Over the course of 48 working days, the results show County Board Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic swiped her key card one out of three days.
In April, it was swiped four times, in May, 10 times and in June, twice. That totals 16 days.
"I`m, not surprised by the results. I think it`s something everyone knew," Trawitzki said.
Records show over the same time-span, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele swiped his key card more than twice as many times.
"I spend a lot of time here and that`s how I find I`m most productive," Abele said.
Dimitrijevic declined an on-camera interview with FOX6 News. In a statement, she says: "This is a record for a parking lot -- not work on behalf of constituents that I do every day."
Dimitrijevic added that this is a "baseless attack" by a former political opponent.
"It`s not about me or her. These are the facts. The facts speak for themselves," Trawitzki said.
The key card records show Dimitrijevic's average work day totals about 2.5 hours. Dimitrijevic says business isn't always done at her desk or at the Courthouse.
