"We're probably gonna feed about 30,000 people:" Palermo's teams up to donate 10,000 pizzas

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Palermo's Pizza gave away 10,000 pizzas to the Hunger Task Force today, September 27th.

The event is part of a larger celebration of the Milwaukee company's 50th anniversary.

Palermo's partnered with Roundy's today to make the event a success.

Several big names attended, including Bucks player John Henson, and County Executive Chris Abele.

Anyone could stop by to sample pizza, but the goal was charity.

Organizers say it's offering a truly unique donation.

"It's going out, we're probably gonna feed about 30,000 people. A lot of HTF donations go in a lot of canned foods, non perishables, so for people to get a hot pizza is really a special treat for them," said Laurie Fallucca, from Palermo's Pizza.

This is the second stop on a 3-month long tour, in which Palermo plans to donate pizzas across 9 different areas across the country.
