U.S. Marshals seek fugitive John Pruitt; "We believe this is a high-threat case"



MILWAUKEE -- U.S. Marshals say he cut off his GPS monitoring device a day after he was released from prison to start his probation. Now, a previous victim of his is now in danger.

“We believe this is a high-threat case,” the agent on the case of 32-year-old John Pruitt.

Pruitt is a fugitive who has derailed from the tracks of life and continues to follow a pattern of harming those close to him.

“He was convicted in 2006 for second degree sexual assault of a child. He's a lifetime registered on the Wisconsin sex offender list,” the agent explained.

Pruitt has violated probation multiple times with violent outbursts of domestic violence.

“At a party with his girlfriend, there was an argument. He thought she was going to take their side and so he started to kick and punch her, breaking her eye socket and a couple of bones in her face,” the agent said.

U.S. Marshals say on November 15th, the day Pruitt was set to start his probation, he cut off his GPS monitoring device.

“He doesn't want to follow the rules. He made it clear to his probation officer that he was not going to follow his probation this time,” the agent said.

Surveillance cameras captured Pruitt trying to catch a train out of the city.  The fugitive is originally from Illinois. His ties are concentrated on the city's north side near 27th and Burleigh. Agents say his ex-girlfriend has been his target in the past and her safety is now at risk with him on the run.

Pruitt is described as being 5'11" tall and weighing 190 pounds. He goes by the nickname, John-John. Pruitt also has a scar on his forehead and several tattoos like the Joker face, a five-pointed star and a Hulk face, He also has the names "Kim" "Ashley" and "John” tattooed on his arms.
