Sentenced: Probation for one of two teens busted by police within 10 minutes of robbery
MILWAUKEE COUNTY (WITI) -- One of two men charged after police busted them within 10 minutes of a robbery near 6th and Keefe has reached a plea deal in the case against him.
Daejujuan Spivey
17-year-old Daejujuan Spivey of Milwaukee has pleaded guilty to a felony charge of robbery with threat of force.
Police say the crime happened just after 11 p.m. on Friday, February 20th. The victim, a 38-year-old Milwaukee woman, told officers she was approached by two suspects who implied a weapon and stole money from her before they fled on foot. Just ten minutes later, officers saw two suspects matching the description of those involved in the crime -- and arrested them. Police say one of the suspects still had the stolen cash in his pocket.
Following the guilty plea, Spivey was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison with credit for 70 days served, and 2.5 years of extended supervision. That sentence was stayed, and Spivey was placed on probation for four years.
As conditions of his probation, Spivey has been ordered to have no contact with the victim or the other man charged in this case, maintain absolute sobriety, undergo an alcohol and drug assessment and treatment, seek and maintain employment, obtain a high school diplmoa or GED, and serve one year conditional time in the House of Correction with Huber release for work/school and release to the Day Reporting Center. Spivey must also pay court costs.
The other person charged in this case is 17-year-old Tarel Perkins of Milwaukee. He has a plea/sentencing hearing scheduled for May 19th.
