Milwaukee man accused of exposing himself, leading police on chase

A 32-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of exposing himself in public and leading police on a high-speed chase on multiple occasions. The accused is Calvin Jones – and he faces the following criminal counts:  

  • Operating a motor vehicle to flee or in an attempt to elude an officer (two counts)
  • Lewd and Lascivious behavior (two counts)

Sept. 2, 2024 incident

What we know:

According to the criminal complaint, Milwaukee police were dispatched on Sept. 4, 2024 to the area near 19th and Wells after a man was seen on surveillance video exposing and touching himself outside of a business. When officers arrived on the scene, the defendant (who matched the surveillance footage) got into a vehicle. The squad pulled up behind the vehicle. The vehicle was turned on and put into drive. That is when the officer activated his lights and siren. But the defendant drove away 'accelerating onto West Wisconsin Avenue. The defendant was driving at approximately 70 mph on Wisconsin Avenue, until the officer could no longer locate the vehicle," the complaint says.

The defendant was arrested on Jan. 17 -- and interviewed by a detective. The defendant was shown the surveillance video -- and stated that "he took off from police in the vehicle because he did not want to go to jail because of the situation," the complaint says.

Oct. 2, 2024 incident

What we know:

On the evening of Oct. 2, 2024, officers were conducting surveillance on the defendant, who was a wanted subject at the time. They spotted the defendant's vehicle traveling south on N. 22nd Street -- and stopped in front of his house. The complaint says the defendant "was suspected of fleeing from (an officer) in the same white 2007 Buick La Crosse, approximately one hour prior from the same address." When the officer activated his lights and siren, the vehicle accelerated. The driver "continued to make turns on different streets, while continuing to accelerate at a fast rate," the complaint says. The officer eventually terminated the pursuit.

On the date of the defendant's arrest, he was asked about Oct. 2 incident. "When asked if he noticed the police lights and sirens, and he stated affirmatively "Mmhmm," the complaint says.

Dec. 24, 27 incidents

What we know:

Lastly, on Dec. 27, Milwaukee police responded to an address near 20th and Kilbourn. A woman told officers about a "suspicious male in a white or beige Buick sedan who had walked past her residence," the complaint says. The woman indicated she saw the same man on Dec. 24 with his genitals exposed.

Again, on Jan. 17, the date of the defendant's arrest, he was asked about the December incidents. The defendant stated that he rides around and stops places to expose himself "because there are usually people walking around and that he enjoys the thrill of getting caught by the people and that he records for his OnlyFans account," the complaint says.

What's next:

While the criminal complaint against Jones was filed on Friday, Jan. 24, he remains out of custody. Online court records indicate there is a warrant for his arrest.
