Milwaukee fire engine struck by speeding driver at 26th and Oklahoma

The Brief

    • A speeding vehicle crashed into a fire engine headed to an emergency on Milwaukee's southwest side.
    • The wreck happened at 26th and Oklahoma on Wednesday afternoon, June 11.
    • The driver of the striking vehicle was hurt.

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee police say a speeding vehicle collided with a Milwaukee fire engine that was operating with lights and sirens on Wednesday afternoon, June 11.

What we know:

Officials say the wreck happened around 1 p.m. at 26th and Oklahoma on the city's southwest side. 

The driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old, was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries.
