Milwaukee Fire Department celebrates 150th anniversary at Henry Maier Festival Park
MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Fire Department celebrated its 150th anniversary at Henry Maier Festival Park on Saturday afternoon.

The free event took place from noon to 4 p.m. The community was invited to experience a behind-the-scenes look at Milwaukee’s firefighting history – and future.

"Even though the vehicles that they drive around on certainly look different and can do different and important things, the people are – that's what makes this fire department tick and we have just fantastic people," said MFD Chief aaron Lipski.
Activities included live music, a chance to check out historic fire apparatus, and an 80,000-pound fire truck pull for charity.
MFD was established in 1875. It currently operates 31 fire stations across Milwaukee, serving the city’s more than 500,000 residents.
