Milwaukee police chase ends with crash, wanted suspect in custody

A Milwaukee police chase ended with a crash that sent three people to a hospital on Friday morning, Feb. 21.

What we know:

It started just after 11 a.m. MPD said officers spotted a wanted person driving near 58th and Thurston and tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver took off and officers gave chase.

The pursuit ended roughly a mile from where it began when the fleeing suspect ran a stop sign and crashed into another vehicle at 57th and Hampton. 

Police said the suspect, a 34-year-old man, tried to run from the scene but was taken into custody. A gun and suspected drugs were recovered.

New video shows a December police chase from West Allis into Wauwatosa that ended with a crash and a woman in custody.

Two people in the vehicle that was hit, ages 40 and 37, had to be extricated. They were taken to a hospital and are expected to survive. 

What we don't know:

Police did not say what the suspect was wanted for.

The Milwaukee Fire Department told FOX6 News that three people were transported from the scene. It's unclear if the third person was the suspect. 

What's next:

Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
