Light pole falls on top of SUV during Black Friday shopping
WEST ALLIS -- A light pole in a parking lot near Highway 100 and Cleveland Ave. was blown over around 2 p.m. on Friday, November 23rd -- and crashed on top of an SUV.
FOX6 News spoke with the driver of the SUV. He says he was just pulling into the parking spot with his wife and two kids when he noticed the light pole swaying. When the pole crashed on top of his SUV, it shattered the sunroof and several windows in the vehicle.
The driver's wife was slightly hurt -- and may have been hit in the head when the light pole impacted the roof. Nobody else was hurt.
Another witness tells FOX6 News the actual lights that were on the pole struck two other vehicles.
West Allis police say the power was shut off to the light pole and the pole was later removed from the parking lot.
