Eastbound I-94 shut down temporarily for high-risk traffic stop

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- Eastbound I-94 near Elm Grove Road was shut down for a short period of time before 1 p.m. Friday while deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop.

Waukesha County Sheriff's Office Detective Steve Pederson says the closure was the result of a call from a driver who indicated a motorist was waving a gun around in a car.

As it turns out, the deputies discovered there was a domestic dispute involving a man and woman inside the car that was pulled over. A cellular phone was being grabbed back and forth -- and the phone was mistaken as a gun.
All lanes were reopened just before 1:30 p.m.
There were no arrests, and the people were sent on their way.
