Douglas Tappa (8-28-11)

27-year-old Douglas Tappa Jr. is accused of an action that would send a chill down the spine of any police officer.

Detective John Petersen of the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force says back in February 2010, Tappa got into a bar fight. A criminal complaint says Tappa may have had too much to drive when he started to make threats toward officers in a Kenosha bar. Police arrested Tappa.

After Tappa got his mugshot taken, police were planning to release him. They walked him in hand cuffs into a holding area. That's when Tappa reached for the officer's gun.

Officers eventually turned the tables, but Tappa turned up missing when it came time for court. Now, the fugitive is charged with battery of a peace officer.

Tappa is described as a male, white, about 5'11" tall, weighing about 170 pounds. He may be hiding out in Kenosha where he has friends and family.

If you see him, you're urged to call U.S. Marshals at 414-297-3707.
